California Romantic Getaways
Part I: The City of Angels.. Los Angeles
Los Angeles,
one of the best place for California romantic getaways, is famous for flashy Hollywood, Disneyland, Beverly Hills
and shopping at Rodeo Drive.
For Couple, there are also
beautiful and romantic places that they could visit for
their California romantic getaways. Places like Newport
Beach, Pasadena, Playa del Rey and Laguna Beach.
1.
Newport Beach (www.city.newport-beach.ca.us)
Newport
Beach and its surrounding shoreline is a place of beauty and
scenic wonder... wind blown bluffs, sandy beaches, rocky
coves and numerous islands from the harbor outline.
Newport
Harbor has been acclaimed as one of the finest small boat
harbors in the world. All size recreational and commercial
boats can be accommodated, from the smallest of rowboats to
large luxury yachts. From the Harbor, couple can also enjoy
the scenic view of the beach while sipping a coffee from the
local coffee shops. Last year, in December, there is a Christmas
Boat Parade at the Newport Beach. The New York Times called
it “One of the Top Ten Holiday Happenings in the Nation”.
A trip to Newport Beach is really an affordable
California romantic getaway for couple.
2.
Santa Monica Beach (www.SantaMonica.com)
Stretching two miles from
Entrada Road
to Marine Street, Santa Monica State Beach offers beautiful
white sand beaches approximately 1/16th of a mile wide.
Couple can do a lot of things here at the beach during
their romantic getaway. They could just sitting on the beach
watching sunset, bicycling, rollerblading, and strolling
along the ocean front walk. Couple can also go to Third
Street Promenade, just three blocks from the beach. It is a
romantic open-air shopping district that has old-fashioned
street lamps that light the way at night. Couples can also
sit on the provided bench, feel the cool ocean breeze and
watch the street performers strut their stuff.
3.
Pasadena
Pasadena
is probably most famous for the annual Tournament of Roses
Parade and Rose Bowl Game. It is located 15 minutes from
downtown
Los Angeles
and it is the most historical place in LA. For couple,
Pasadena
offers a wide range of romantic getaways things to do from
dining at the Italian Restaurant “Buca de Bepo”, watching
movies, and sitting at one of the romantic cafes along the
Old Town Pasadena. Old Town Pasadena, a 22-block area
restored to its early 20th-century glory and now home to
more than 200 restaurants, clubs, stores, galleries and
boutiques.
4.
Playa del Rey
This beach is located just north of the path
Los Angeles
Airport. Playa del Rey is an interesting village made up
mostly of condominiums and apartments situated by the ocean
and the main channel of Marina del Rey harbor. Playa del Ray
beach has more of a local flavor and is less touristy than
other beaches like Santa Monica. Couples can sit on the
beach and listen to the sounds of the shore break. Couple
can also stays in the romantic beachside bed and breakfasts
there.
5.
Laguna Beach
Laguna
Beach is approximately halfway between Los Angeles and San
Diego on Coast Highway (State 1). From Interstate 405 or
from the San Joaquin Hills tollway (State 73), take State
133. Laguna is a blend of gallery town, dining destination,
posh suburb, and, above all, casual beach town. The
oceanfront serves as the main stage for both residents and
the thousands of people who descend on the community for its
summertime arts festivals. Couple can do a lot of romantic
things such as going to an art festival, walk to down to the
rocky shoreline or simply just gazing at artistic
representations of Laguna's gorgeous coast. The coastline is
erratically lovely and it is perfect for couple’s romantic
getaway.
